I took the basic wff course from a private contractor. They said they
expected work starting the middle of May. Months later, I've received
one call, at noon one day, asking if I could be ready to go to Colorado
at 4PM. Um, no.
We've got several new fires burning here in Utah, and still no call.
I'm not sure I'm complaining here since wff-ing is almost a lark for me.
I just want to try it, but I could also use a paycheck.
Should I maybe call the USFS or BLM? Will they put me right on the
payroll and out there in the scorching heat?
